Jon Hopkins

Jon Hopkins makes powerfully emotive, instrumental music that consistently crosses genres, ranging from solo acoustic piano to explosive, bass-heavy electro.  He really puts a lot into his ambient works, and it shows.  You might have heard of his music before because he composes parts of Coldplays music.  One track in particular is "Death and All His Friends" where you can hear part of his "Light Through the Veins" at the end.

This track in particular is stunning.  Melodic piano mixed with ambient electro.  Its truly a treat for your ears.

  17. This song in a one-word description: 'Lofty'

Why? Because it seems to reach higher and higher; stretching ever-further toward a crescendo that eventually fades unto itself, thus starting the process anew.
